It's been a busy afternoon here iterating, polishing and playtesting a blog post to commemorate Team Fortress' one hundredth update.
Has anyone else been experiencing problems or have anysuggestions.
Do not run the verification process while performing other system-intensive processes, such as defragmenting your hard drive or scanning for viruses.

(If this is you, you’ve come to the right place.) One night you decide you have had enough and you try to quit. The reason they are playing video games is to avoid studying!
Maybe you even type “How to quit playing video games” into Google. A bunch of crap that doesn’t work at all, because the people who wrote the articles wrote what the What the fuck? Going to a friends house seems like good advice, except their friends are likely also playing video games, so now you are just making the problem worse, and limiting the time you play never works at all.
If after doing what you already did, you are left with deleting and re-downloading or hoping (rather blindly) that a future Steam update may fix the problem.
It's unfortunate that it's the only option but perhaps you can let it download overnight.
If I were overweight, running would be a huge challenge for me.
Again, eating healthy is good and all, but that takes effort too, and changing your eating habits is not exactly an exciting proposition – which is why a ton of people don’t do it. The right advice is to find a solution to the actual problem: their laziness, lack of drive, lack of self-worth, lack of self-esteem, etc.
Dota 2 is regularly updated so I recommend that you have it downloaded without exiting Steam or turning off your PC.
The files on the temp Dota 2 folder (Steam/Steam Apps/downloading/570) has been replaced by the new one, so your download progress is restarted.
If there are individual files you can narrow the issue down to that are not huge, try deleting them and re-downloading/verifying to see if it helps.
