This past week alone I’ve gotten enough poorly executed messages to make me want to curl up in a ball of being-alone-forever.
I try not to lose hope that there can be some genuine connections made through meeting someone off of the internet. I have even made several lasting friends from some of my experiences.
I’m not too into the tangoed look myself, but I do usually have a tan in the summer from being out in the field with my horse.
Research shows that women benefit from making the first move on dating apps.
But when someone's online dating profile catches your eye, there can be a lot of pressure on that first message. It went something along the lines of: ' I could compliment your awesome taste in TV and movies, but what really caught my eye was your choice of food. ' (OKC asks for your top food choices; one of his was 'recently tried Polish dumplings... ') He had not tried them, so we planned our date around that.
This will help spark an idea about where to take the message.
Bonus: you’ll find out if you truly want to message this person or if they’re just drawing you in with their physical appearance.
Three sentences are all you need to write in a first message.
This establishes your interest and initiates conversation.
Good luck out there, and may the words be with you!
